On Tuesday (08.11.11), Jennifer Lopez was honoured at the Glamour Women of the year Awards at Carnegie Hall in New York last night. The ‘On the Floor’ hitmaker who split from her third husband Marc Anthony earlier this year has received the All-Star award at the ceremony at New York’s Carnegie Hall and thanked all of the ladies in her life for her success.
She had accepted the honour in front of a star-studded crowd which included Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Alba and Jennifer said that, they all felt a little overwhelmed tonight. The 42-year-old singer and actress stepped into the spotlight in a form-fitting full length cream gown which was split to the thigh. Wearing her hair down and fastened back at the sides, the mother of two put in a confident turn as she leant her support to the evening.
Lopez admitted that, It’s the women. Through the ups and the not so ups, that’s the one thing that got her through. Her grandmother, who taught her to cook and not be afraid to serve and be humble. And to go out looking nice because people like that and then they respect you.
She also further added that her daughter Emme inspires her to be a better human being. And Jennifer who also has a 3-year-old son Max. She tweeted that “what an amazing evening…. Filled with LOVE and beautiful women. Thank You @glamourmag… I am truly honoured (sic)”
It is also said that US chat show host Chelsea Handler picked up The Queen of the Night award, while Lea Michele was presented with The Diva Next Door prize in honour of young women who make a difference in the world, by her close friend and former ‘Glee’ co-star Jonathan Groff.
Lea Michele tweeted that “ what an inspiring night tonight at the Glamour women of year awards. So unbelievable!”
The Glamour Women of the Year Award was added by other honourees, included Jennifer Aniston, Former First Lady Laura Bush, Arianna Huffington and Gloria Steinem.
