“IDES OF MARCH” : Keeps As A Viewer>>>>

In this blog entry I’m gonna share about the review of the movie “Ides of March,” this movie was directed by George Clooney, producer of the movie are George Clooney, Grant Heslov, Brian Oliver and Screen writer are George Clooney, Grant Heslov, Beau Willimon. “Ides of March” is starred by Ryan Gosling, George Clooney, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti, Evan Rachel Wood, Marisa Tomei, Jeffrey Wright, Max Minghella, Jennifer Ehle
In this movie “Ides of March” George Clooney not only stars but produced and directed as well and he plays Mike Morris, the Pennsylvania governor in the thick of an Ohio Democratic presidential primary against Sen. Pullman (Michael Mantell).  The Ides Of March is right up Clooney’s alley, with it being a sharply political tale that shines the spotlight on dirty campaign politics, which tend to infiltrate even the most well-meaning campaigns.
One of my friend said that while watching the movie he assumed that Clooney’s character is based on Howard Dean but after watching it John Edwards is a more obvious inspiration. Morris is progressive, but in a realistic, feasible way and isn’t bound by religion or any perceived moral superiority. But he is flawed, as Gosling’s character comes to realize as the film goes on.
In the movie Ides of March the Clooney’s character is less than Gosling, who was through and through in film, Gosling’s growing moral degradation and transformation into the kind of repulsive sleaze bag campaign manager, as portrayed by Paul Giamatti. Ides of March is a well-constructed film and thought provoking drama and also my friend said the feel in the movie was missing a certain something.

My friend felt that the cast was perfect in the movie, with Philip Seymour Hoffman, as a change of pace, playing the most obviously moral character and Evan Rachel Wood having a meaty role as the young woman who initially seems like a vixen, but eventually proves to be more complicated.
My friend felt that The Ides of March was keeping him as the viewer at arm’s length and he the Clooney forgot to give audiences a character they could identify with or latch on to-as everyone, to a degree, proves themselves to be either a fraud or worse. This movie “Ides of March” is still a good movie but something was missing in the movie which my friend couldn’t recognize I think I might recognize by watching the movie.

  1. Interesting article. I find myself feeling a little guilty of falling into your trap of how you get people to comment on your blogs. Besides that I really like a couple of ideas you present.
