When he and his young children stayed at Coolatore House in County Westmeath, Ireland in 2006 the both items were used by the Thriller icon, while he was recording tracks at Grouse Lodge studios in 2006. He stayed there with no security or entourage, just his three children and their tutor.

The most personal item that belonged to Jackson and is up for auction is his favorite silk pyjamas, which he is said to have left behind during his five month stay at the Irish sanctuary. The auction is meant to raise funds toward the refurbishing of Coolatore House. Auctioneer Damien Matthews of Matthews Auction Rooms revealed that the superstar Michael Jackson told his hosts he had never slept better in his life than he did at Coolatore House.
Matthews also added that when superstar was leaving, he left his hat and his pyjamas as a gift. Late Michael Jackson told the owners of the house that he had a marvelous time and that Coolatore was the only place where they had ever felt like a real family.
